So I need to watch The Fellowship of the Ring yet again and I just bought a new touchscreen laptop with an art program on it. Yup, time to make some drawings.
Here’s the set-up.
Please pay particular attention to my test sketch up there. That’s how it came out when I was looking. So, the touchscreen is not exactly made for quick strokes. My intent was a series of rapid stream-of-consciousness scribbles inspired while watching Fellowship, but once I saw how finicky this sucker is, my goal shifted to just making something worth hanging on the fridge.
And now… Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, in digital crayon and watercolor.
ONE THING THAT WOULD HAVE IMPROVED THE MOVIE:
Did you notice the huge mistake I made in every single Hobbit drawing? Yup, despite watching Fellowship every week for over four months and having the movie directly in front of my face, I drew shoes on all of the Hobbits. And you know what? I stand by it. I don’t care how tough your feet are, you’re still gonna want traction. Put some boots on these guys.
