OBJECTIVE: Watch The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring once per every week of 2014.

WHEN: September 20, 2014, 10:35am. (Week 39, September 14-20.)

WHERE: In the living room of my apartment in Portland, ME.

FORMAT: Digital streaming on an Apple TV.

COMPANY: None.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STATE: Blah.

TECH TEST:
I bought an Apple TV approximately one week ago and had not yet tried to play anything from my iTunes account. What better way to test the streaming quality than with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, a gigantic movie that’s bound to freeze at some point and that I’m required to watch weekly in accordance with my participation in an increasingly irritating and mostly unscientific science experiment?

CONCLUSION:
It worked fine.

ONE THING THAT WOULD HAVE IMPROVED THE MOVIE:
Some stylized captions that add to the overall atmosphere? This is how onscreen information looks on the DVD…

Aww, that’s nice.

…and this is how it looks on the Apple TV.

Fart.
