A LETTER REGARDING THE CHILDREN:

My Dearest Jess,

It was truly a delight looking after Alexis and Timothy this past weekend. Such wonderful children, with such vivid imaginations. We had a nice quiet stay at my bungalow on Isla Nublar. The island is very calm, and there is very little in the way of indigenous wildlife, yet the children spent the whole weekend making believe that they were running away from dinosaurs; you know how children can be!

I am afraid that in their youthful vigor they sustained a few minor scrapes and bruises. Lex took a little tumble down a small embankment, and Tim fell out of a tree which he had precociously endeavored to climb. Tim also received a nasty shock when playing with an electrical socket. He is fine, and there is no need to worry. I have already chided him appropriately.

Imaginative as they are, they have folded all these events into their playful idea that the island is full of great prehistoric beasts. They have even incorporated my gardener, Grant, into their tale as a paleontologist. In light of your divorce from their father, it is probably best to humor these youthful fantasies. An active inner life of imagination can be such a comfort in times of stress, don’t you agree?

Your loving father,
John Hammond

Everyone had a good time, and nothing horrible happened at all.
