THOUGHTS:

It is over. The first thing I did when I shut off the TV was to go take a walk about the house. I feel as if I have just taken a long journey. My destination is met, but the more important part was getting here. And no, this is not a shameless tie-in to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, I have not seen it yet.

In theaters now!

Truman was not a bad movie. It does have a certain charm to it. It is definitely not the golden example of a movie that some of the critics that have reviewed it make it out to be. It is just okay. Not bad, not great, simply okay. The movie does have a goal and accomplishes most of what it aims for. I think the movie could be a great movie with a little restructuring. If some bits and pieces were moved around and there was a little surprise in the movie, I would like it a lot more. But really, that is it.

I do not hate the movie. I do not hate the actors. I do not hate the director, the writer, or even the composers. I even kinda started to like Philip Glass a bit more. Mostly because I want his body.

Take me to funky town, Mr. Glass.

I think Truman will fill the role of “the movie I can put in the background and ignore.” I don’t know yet if I have any memories anchored to Truman from this past year. Only time will tell. I do know, however, that I will look upon the time I have spent with this move a bit more fondly than I would have thought a couple months ago. So, I guess this is goodbye, Truman.

Goodbye.
